Special Children, Inc. is a 501 C (3) Charitable Agency founded in 1953 and dedicated to helping very young children overcome physical and/or learning challenges. Special Children. Inc.’s goal is to help children gain the skills and confidence they need to be successful in their home, school, and their community, and to foster positive peer and family relationships. The programs of Special Children, Inc. provide individual and group special instruction to meet the children’s needs as early as possible and build good self esteem. We recognize and respond to the unique needs of every family that we serve by providing support and education to the parents so they be aware they are not alone and isolated. Special Children, Inc. believes in empowering parents so they will be able to assist their child in meeting outcomes that will lead to their independence and assist them in reaching their potential.
VisionIt is Special Children’s hope that all children needing special services will be identified at birth, or shortly thereafter, and that services will be family-centered, coordinated, accountable, and effective.
