Both the P.R.I.M.E./Care Inclusive Play Center and the Mamie O. Stookey Early Childhood Classroom environments are arranged for the young children to actively explore materials and activities using all their senses. The children move between free and spontaneous play to organized play. The environment is bright and colorful with natural lighting and supports the children’s development by providing tools, equipment and interpersonal experiences that help the children move through the developmental stages. The environment is child-centered and relevant for the children to be constantly learning, building on what they know to create new ways of thinking and seeing their world.
