P.R.I.M.E. is a home-based program that began in 1979 born of the belief that the family has the primary responsibility for the child’s early learning environment. P.R.I.M.E. provides services to infants/toddlers who may exhibit delays in one or more developmental areas. The infant/toddler is seen in the home with their parent and/or primary caregiver by a team of therapists which may include developmental (special early childhood educator), speech and language, occupational, and/or physical therapist. Parents are taught how to provide a stimulating home environment and how to embed therapy within the day to day routines of the infant/toddler and family life. The amount and frequency of therapy is based on each infant/toddler/family’s unique needs. Equipment and materials which have been secured through donations and grants are lent to the family as needed. P.R.I.M.E. bills the family’s insurance. P.R.I.M.E. is also funded by the United Way, and by private donations.

There is no greater gift that you can give your child at the beginning of life than the ability to communicate.
